Rockabilly is always best when it is primitive, and raw, and when you add in elements of 60’s Surf and Garage Fuzz, it makes it just the right amount of trashy. Since its inception, rockabilly has crossed boundaries as well as borders, and is constantly growing. All around the world, fans and musicians are keeping the subculture alive and well, but as time has gone on from the early days of Rock N Roll and Rockabilly, the sound has picked up a few influences along the way. Pulling influences from traditional Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Garage, and crediting legendary artists such as the Stray Cats and Link Wray, is the one man band the Low Ranger.
Hailing from Castel Goffredo, a small town in the center of Northern Italy, Low Ranger takes his blend of influences and has as much fun as possible with it. When not playing as guitarist and front man of his more traditionally influenced Rockabilly band The Moggies, the masked Low Ranger is playing The Moggies’ songs, but changing the arrangement, tempo, and key to make his one man live show as trashy and entertaining as can be, complete with the Low Ranger’s customary split leg guitar playing.
The Low Ranger has been entertaining fans for over 10 years now, with no intentions of slowing down. Whether with the whole Moggies band, or on his own, a live show in the entire of Northern Italy can be easily found. Using social media and soundtrackfarm.com updates are always available. Preferring to release singles or a few songs over an entire album, Low Ranger is able to have new music out at multiple points throughout the year, which are all available for free digital download or the 2016 full-length album “Rockin’ Building” available on 12″ vinyl.
The newest single by Low Ranger, “Show Me Your Legs and Do It Again”, has just recently been released, with an accompanying video. The song is raw, and true to the Low Ranger form of pure Rock N Roll. The Garage influences are heavily felt, but with a straight forward Neo-Rockabilly beat. Rockabilly is alive and well, and very well traveled. Low Ranger is a testament to the power and drive of true Rock N Roll.
