EXCLUSIVE — Created in the wake of the unfortunate events caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, Wyld Timez is bringing 80s infused Metal Punk to the masses, and waving the DIY flag along with it.
The heyday of both Metal and Punk saw plenty of bands crossing back and forth with styles and heavily influencing one another. Punks were getting into the darker and heavier elements of Metal, and Metalheads were embracing the speed and aggression(both in style and towards society) of Punk. Wyld Timez is putting it all together in the vein of Motörhead and the Misfits, with scraps of modern Thrash Metal thrown in.
Wyld Timez in name and practice is in tribute to DIY and underground bands everywhere. It is for the days of piling into a van with all the instruments and equipment for a 10 show tour and barely enough money for gas to make it to the next gig. It’s for the house parties and backyard shows where the beers are plenty, and bed is an open spot on the floor or the roof of the garage. There are no rules, only music that’s fast, friends, and good times, despite any rough patches it took to get there. Wyld Timez is for breaking tradition, embracing counterculture, and living your own life, regardless of any imposed societal norms.
“One Foot In The Grave” is the aggressive Punk meets ripping Heavy Metal debut single, and accompanying self recorded and edited DIY video from Wyld Timez. The EP, out soon, features artwork from Total Chaos and The Casualties album art artist Nanu Nano Art. “One Foot In The Grave” is available for download via Bandcamp now!
