When demos are done right, they can really get things going for a band. Spreading around, hand to hand and ear to ear, gaining attention from all the right sources. Swedish Punk & Rollers Diamonds and Guns saw that bit of success after the release of their early demos “California” and “San Francisco”. Gigs, fans, and plays were really picking up. That is until the dreaded COVID-19 global pandemic that put a lot of the artistic world(among everything else) on a long and uncertain hold. While lockdowns and restrictions drastically halted forward momentum, Diamonds and Guns kept at it in their rehearsal space and continued writing songs.
Keeping their heads up, and their punk-train rolling, Diamonds and Guns have released “Cheers To Us”, an ode to friends and keeping it together. “Cheers to Us” opens with some great lead playing that sticks around through the whole song, which is a sound expected within the Punk & Roll genre. This is a little softer than their earlier releases, but would be the perfect set closer. Especially when playing a smaller bar gig. This is one to send the crowd home happy. Its sing-along chorus and positive outlook call for raised glasses and sturdy embraces. “Cheers to Us” is for friends, both new and old, and those who need that little pick me up to hang in there. Its for remembering those who are no longer with us and reminiscing about and celebrating all the good times together. So, “Cheers to friends we love, cheers to friends we lost, cheers to all of us” and cheers to not giving up!
“Cheers to Us” is out now independently from Diamonds and Guns. Stream it on Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube!
