Social Media followers of Folk/Blues/Rock performer Micaiah Sawyer were treated to a special pre-release of her new single “’Til I’m Grey & Old” on January 4th.
While a slight departure from the foot-stomping blues infused folk and mellow acoustic that she is known for, the singer-songwriter’s beautifully soulful vocals are on full display. “’Til I’m Grey & Old” is heavy on the blues and soul influence. The production and mastering, provided by Alec Shaw (who also performs the blusey lead guitar for the song), is expertly crafted and gives such a warm sound. The bass heavy percussion at the beginning, which fades some when the rest of the instrumentation and vocals kick in, gives a more modern feel to the stripped down Americana that is typically performed. The softer acoustic and vocal only lead out gives a great personal touch.
“’Til I’m Grey & Old” will be available on all major streaming platforms January 17th. The release coincides with a secret location show presented by Sofar Seattle (Seattle, Washington).
